Effective: A “talk therapy” intervention that incorporates clinical tobacco treatment counseling methods, cognitive / behavioral psychology, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, motivational interviewing, personalized state-of-the-art hypnotherapy (two kinds of hypnosis are used in the process) and decades of direct experience with every type of smoker and every facet of smoking.
Thorough: Designed to be a one-time process, the session or seminar lasts about four hours. The process includes educational / motivational work on topics including:
Positive vs. Negative Motivation – The most common motivators do not produce long-term success. You need the right kind of reasoning to achieve permanent results.
Chemical Substance Dependence — Physically addicted to nicotine? Get the facts to understand why pills & patches are unnecessary and counterproductive.
Drug-Reinforced Behavior — Understand the addiction as a type of learned behavior. Avoiding habitual triggers doesn’t work, learn how to eliminate them forever.
Cognitive Dissonance — Things that began as simple excuses end up feeling like important reasons. Learn how to break through the lies and excuses.
Positive Expectation — Why does it seem easy for some to stop smoking and difficult for others? Attitude is everything, learn to use the perspective that works.
Safe — Hypnosis is not about giving control to a hypnotist, it is about learning to gain control over the power of your own mind. You cannot be hypnotized against your will, and you cannot be hypnotized to do anything that is in any way contrary to your own intentions and best interests. A Certified Hypnotherapist is trained to help you discover and explore your own powers for self-directed change and self-sustaining growth. There are two ways to use hypnosis … trance mode and conversational mode. Both types are included in the HypNoSmoke process.
Personal — Previous failures to quit are no problem, even previously unsuccessful hypnosis. In fact, the more ways you’ve attempted to stop smoking in the past, the more ways I can help you learn from past problems so that you can get it right this time. A key part of the process is addressing your unique history, personality, smoking patterns and prior experiences.
Economical — Less expensive than drugs, patches, or other methods requiring multiple sessions. For the pack-a-day smoker, quitting with my help will pay for itself in just a few weeks. And there is no premium charge for this smoking-specific expertise, my fees (listed here) are less than many general practitioners charge for basic hypnosis only, and my pricing is based on the service / session, not per hour.
Complete — I do not sell or promote pills, patches, dietary supplements, physical treatments, mechanical processes, books, audio recordings, acupuncture, bio-feedback or any other type of “add-on” services designed to increase your cost or prolong your involvement. All private and small group clients receive my HypNoSmoke audio CD free, for future personal use in the reinforcement of hypnotic suggestions.
